Meet Lauren...

Question: Why did you apply for a job at Bank of Bermuda?

Answer: I had a strong interest in Human Resources, and since Bank of Bermuda is Bermuda’s largest private employer, I knew they would have a lot of HR needs. Also, with the Bank becoming a member of HSBC group I was impressed by the many global and local opportunities being offered.

Question: What do you like most about your career?

Answer: I love that no two days are alike, and at the end of my work day I can honestly go home feeling that I’ve learned something new, and I’ve contributed something important to the team.

Question: How does your department contribute to objectives of Bank of Bermuda?

Answer: In short - our job in Human Resources is to work as a team in order to hire the right people, for the right positions. We want to be the employer of choice in Bermuda.

Question: How has this job helped in your career development?

Answer: So far my job has made me more confident and competent in my field. I also had the opportunity to facilitate Training sessions and attend standardised Human Resources courses. In addition, at the end of this year I will be sitting my Professional in Human Resources examination; Bank of Bermuda really encourages and supports my career development.

Question: Before you go, do you have any words of wisdom regarding careers?

Answer: Simple. Work hard, and you will be rewarded.
