Position Overview
Would you like a change of career? Bank of Bermuda’s Premises & Corporate Management Division is seeking experienced persons to train as Security Guards who will be able to assist in enforcing health and safety procedures in a highly sensitive security environment. State of the art security systems will enable the successful candidate to be responsible for access control, cash and other vault escort, certificates and securities pick up and delivery, vault openings in addition to daily checks of the Fire and Security Alarm systems. As the Banks first line of defence it is critical that commitment, awareness and the desire to service our banking community be personal strengths. We depend on our security team to work together at various Bank locations, sometimes on very short notice in order to ensure the high level of security our community deserves and depends on.
Job Responsibilities
- Controlling access to the banking floors prior to and immediately after hours of opening; monitoring and observing persons in the banking halls during business hours and assisting where necessary
- Collecting and completing paperwork on security issues as necessary
- Controlling freight elevator, assisting with deliveries and internal movement of stores
- Providing security for ATM support, acting as driver escort
- Operating and monitoring the security computer in the security booth
Qualifications Required
- High School certificate or BSSC certificate
- Possess an intermediate driver’s licence
- Able to perform heavy lifting
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly, enthusiastic with a pleasing personality
- Ability to be on call when required
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and walk significant distances
- Ability to use initiative and discretion when required.
